Summer quilting

August 10th, 2009

I’ve had a busy summer. My son started kindergarten in July so, our summer activities were compacted into a very short amount of time. We had swim lessons, camping and many play dates. On top of my family duties, my business has tripled from last year. YEAH! I’m very happy about my decision to start my business. I love the creativity quilting affords me. I am continually inspired by the beautiful quilts that come my way. Here are a few of my favorites from the past weeks.  quilt_no424_0880quilt_no440_0687

Here is a past Gracie's night out

This last Saturday I went to my local quilt shop’s Gracie’s night out. By my count this was my ninth time. It is alot of fun. Everyone brings there stash of gracies’s fabrics from the 30′s and 40′s. The quilt shop creates two patterns, one the is totally pieced and one that has applique. We chose one pattern to make that night but, receive both pattern for our files. Cool right. Everyone brings a potluck dish to share and we sew, laugh, eat and gossip from 5pm to 11pm. Everyone is happy to share their fabrics so your finished quilt could have feed sack fabric, new fabric or even some antique gracies. I love the bright happy fabrics. They make me smile. I’ll post pictures of my progress.

In the Beginning

March 19th, 2009

Since this is my first real blog. I thought it would be good to say afew words about my blog. I love everything art, craft, quilting and food related. I always have many projects, in many different mediums, always going at once. I thought keeping and sharing a blog would be a good way to chronicle my adventures. Please come back for craft ideas, quilting patterns and recipes that my family and friends love.
Cheers
